If you love the styling of the Jeep Grand Cherokee but are looking for a crossover that's a bit smaller, take a look at the 2019 Jeep Compass. When you see the Compass at a dealership like the South Bend Jeep dealer, you'll notice that it's larger than the Renegade and smaller than the Cherokee. The Compass has plenty of interior space and it has lots of curb appeal. There's a long list of standard features, too. Off-roaders will especially appreciate the Trailhawk trim.
The 2019 Jeep Compass seats five and is available in four trim levels, listed as Sport, Latitude, Limited and Trailhawk. According to South Bend Jeep, all trims get standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive. Powering the Compass is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The Sport trim and the Latitude trim with four-wheel drive have a choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed automatic. The Limited and Trailhawk trims are equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

It comes well-equipped, including a larger standard touchscreen for 2019, is generally pleasant to drive and is arguably the best-looking of its compact siblings. Plus, its off-road capability - especially the Compass Trailhawk -- gives it a distinct advantage over most non-Jeep competitors."
Buyers looking for a rugged off-roader won't be disappointed by the 2019 Jeep Compass. The Trailhawk trim is a great choice for anyone who's ready for some weekend rock crawling. The Trailhawk includes upgraded features, such as more underbody protection and a raised suspension. The Selec-Terrain system lets drivers easily tackle any type of terrain.
On the outside, the Compass' signature seven-slot grille is evident. An optional two-tone black roof takes the Compass' appearance to the next level. Add 19-inch alloy wheels and the Limited trim gets an even bolder stance. There are nine one-tone color options and five two-tone combinations to choose from.
The cabin is spacious, with plenty of room to keep the driver and passengers comfortable. There's ample legroom in the back, and 27 cubic feet of cargo space in the rear, making the Compass an ideal vehicle to take the family on weekend road trips.
The base Compass Sport trim comes with many standard features, including an audio system with six speakers, a 7.0-inch touchscreen and Bluetooth connectivity. Features that come standard on the higher trims include the Uconnect 4 infotainment system, which has crisp graphics and a user-friendly interface. Uconnect 4 also comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Music lovers will enjoy the optional Beats premium audio system.
Standard safety gear includes the ParkView backup camera, which automatically activates when the vehicle is in reverse. Jeep's Rain Brake Support technology keeps the brake rotors dry when the weather is wet. Buyers can also choose from several optional driver-assist technologies, including forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring. The IIHS gave the 2019 Jeep Compass its top score of Good in all crash test categories.
