If you've been looking for a crossover SUV that can seat seven passengers and won't drain your bank accoun, we think the 2019 Dodge Journey may what you need. The Journey is a lot less expensive than its biggest rivals. You can mod it to get some outstanding options, including all-wheel drive, an infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and a heated steering wheel. These are just some of the reasons buyers at dealerships like the New Buffalo Dodge dealer choose the Dodge Journey.
According to New Buffalo Dodge, the 2019 Dodge Journey is available in three trim levels, listed as SE, Crossroad and GT. Front-wheel drive is standard across the board and all-wheel drive is available. Powering the front-wheel-drive SE and Crossroad trims is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 174 horsepower and 166 lb-ft of torque, mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel-drive models are equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 that generates 283 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, teamed to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This engine is standard in the Journey GT trim.
Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com reviewed the 2019 Dodge Journey and wrote: "You'll like this car if low-cost, multi-person transport is the name of the game and forget about the frills. The 2019 Journey has comfortable seats, a forgiving ride quality, and many stowage areas to help keep trips bearable."
The driver and passengers will appreciate the Journey's flexible cargo area. The second- and third-row seats can be folded down to provide a flat floor. For even more cargo space, the front passenger seat can be folded down. The base of that seat features a storage compartment in the base. Passengers will appreciate the cubbies scattered around the cabin.
The base Journey SE trim comes with standard features that include 17-inch steel wheels, roof rails, automatic headlights, heated side mirrors, foglights, a driver's seat that's height-adjustable, 60/40-split second-row seats, 50/50-split third-row seats, a rearview camera, and keyless ignition and entry. Music lovers will appreciate the Journey's six-speaker stereo system, which comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and auxiliary input.
There are a number of packages available for the SE. The Connectivity package adds satellite radio, a USB port, Bluetooth, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and voice commands. The Comfort/Convenience package gets a power-adjustable driver's seat and upgraded cloth upholstery. Buyers who opt for the Blacktop package enjoy blacked-out exterior trim and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Premium Group gets all the features found in the Comfort/Convenience and the Connectivity packages. Standalone options include an alarm system and remote start.
The Crossroad trim starts with the feature of the Premium Group option package and adds 19-inch wheels, leather upholstery, a specially tuned suspension, an upgraded infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and tri-zone climate control.
Available features for the Crossroad trim include heated front seats, a rear-seat entertainment system, remote start, a sunroof, a navigation system, and a premium six-speaker audio system with six speakers and a subwoofer. The optional Driver Convenience package comes with a universal garage door opener and rear parking sensors.
