The 2019 Dodge Charger is a sedan that looks great, drives very fast and is offered in hues that match its sporty looks. And while the Charger isn't necessarily the most practical vehicle offered today, the Niles Dodge dealer reminds us that buyers will get a large four-door sedan that comes with a long list of safety features, making it a good choice for those looking for a family vehicle.
The Charger includes many standard and available comfort features that allow buyers to customize it to suit their needs. Customers of the Niles Dodge dealership report they like the Charger's Uconnect infotainment system, citing the easy-to-use interface. Drivers who have to negotiate snowy and icy road conditions can take advantage of the Charger's optional all-wheel-drive system, which adds grip for maximum control.
New features for 2019 include a new grille for the SRT Hellcat, along with equipment that assists racing performance. The SRT R/T Scat Pack gets new optional available adaptive suspension dampers, as well as other styling options. Charger GT and R/T trim levels get many electronic and chassis upgrades, including a new rear axle ratio, a performance suspension and recalibrated steering.
The automotive press gives the 2019 Dodge Charger two thumbs up. Kelley Blue Book's kbb.com wrote: "If you require four doors, but you like the idea of a powerful sedan with unapologetically American styling and handling, the 2019 Dodge Charger is in a league all its own. A wide range of models, colors, options and engines flies in the face of the prepackaged offerings from most manufacturers."
The 2019 Dodge Charger seats five. This four-door sedan is offered in five trim levels, listed as SXT, GT, R/T, Scat Pack and SRT Hellcat. All trims get standard rear-wheel drive, while the SXT trim gets optional all-wheel drive.
The base SXT trim is powered by a 3.6-liter V6 engine that makes 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Drivers who select the SXT with all-wheel drive get a version of this engine that develops 300 hp and 264 lb-ft of torque. The R/T is equipped with a 5.7-liter V8 that produces 370 hp and 395 lb-ft of torque. The Scat Pack employs a 6.4-liter V8 that pumps out 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the line, the SRT Hellcat is powered by a 6.2-liter V8 that blasts out an incredible 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of twist.
Standard features for the base SXT include 17-inch wheels and tires, LED daytime running lights, chrome exhaust tips, power windows, power mirrors, automatic headlights, acoustic front glass and windshield, an electronic reconfigurable gauge cluster, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch touch screen with Uconnect 4 and rear parking sensors.
Major options include a Harman Kardon audio system, an Alpine audio system and a power sunroof. Option packages include the Technology Group, Performance Handling Group, Navigation, Driver Confidence Group and more. The Premium Group adds adaptive cruise control, forward emergency braking and blind-spot monitoring.
